3-2-1 What Tetris Taught Me

For your mind, body and soul

Happy 3-2-1 Sunday

Before you’ve finished your morning coffee, you’ll have a read a few new things to consider for the week ahead.

3 for your mind

Music: Sometimes I think about why we do what we do, And the world tells us "no", These walls were made to break and I am breaking through - I Made It by Tones and I

Podcast: Give yourself permission to do the things that bring you joy delves into a concept Ronen Aires calls "The Chooseday Experiment". With the pressure of year end deadlines looming, Ronen shares his personal journey of dedicating Tuesdays to doing things that bring him joy, fulfillment, and creative inspiration.

Book: With the holidays looming, my reading list is growing. But The Resilience Myth; New Thinking On Grit, Strength, And Growth After Trauma by Soraya Chemaly isn’t one of those laid back reads. Fascinated by resilience, I obviously scanned the back cover to find the following:
“Blending rigourous research and enthralling personal storytelling, TRM offers a new vision for collective healing by emphasizing care for our neighbours - both human and nonhuman - and our environments our just ourselves. By prioritizing compassion, creativity, and connection, this book ignites essential conversations about fostering resilience for all, not just for those who can afford it.” I am most intrigued.

2 for your body

Move: Walking outdoors.
We live on the edge of the Cape Winelands and often visit wine estates with the sole purpose of walking. Near a river, through an orchard or under the shade of oak trees. More often than not I’ve solved a problem and dreamed up a creative project while walking outdoors. Our favourite spots to go for a walk include Spier, Boschendal and Babylonstoren. See you out there.

Eat: Mi-Mousse. That’s what we call it.
Mix 1 part Milo with four parts plain full cream yoghurt. So delicious!

1 for your soul
