3-2-1 We Won!

For your mind, body and soul

Last night Something Shifted took Gold at the South African Podcast Awards in the Personal Growth category and a Bronze in the Best Production Quality category. And today is my 45th birthday!

Let the celebrations begin. 🎂

Welcome to a new month and a new format to this newsletter.

Going forward, 3-2-1 Shift will arrive in your inbox every second Sunday with my favourite quotes, tips and reccomendations. Before you’ve finished making your morning coffee, you’ll have a read a few new things to consider for the week ahead.

Happy 3-2-1 Sunday!

3 for your mind

Music: “What if I told you none of it was accidental And the first night that you saw me, nothing was gonna stop me?” - Mastermind by Taylor Swift

Podcast: Can changing your posture help you overcome anxiety? Listen to psychotherapist Noa Belling from the Something Shifted archives talk about link between posture and mental state.

Book: I have just finished reading “How Did We Get Here” by Mpoomy Ledwaba. Filled with reflective questions, Mpoomy shares her story because “shame loses it’s power when we find a safe spaces to share our truth…” Mpoomy’s journey of self discovery is a number one bestseller in South Africa.

2 for your body

Move: Flow.
I am currently obsesssed with calisthenics. I would like to schedule more time to practise and improve my skills. My lastest favourite is the “No Time Workout” with LeoMoves

Eat: I’ve recently taken to drinking almond milk in my coffee.
The main reason for this is because my body doesn’t seem to digest lactose as easily as it use to. Almond milk is primarily made of water, so obviously it contains fewer calories, carbohydrates, and protein than cow's milk. Have you tried a milk alternative?

1 for your soul

Dutch watchmaker and writer Corrie ten Boom on worry:

"Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow, it empties today of its strength."
~Clippings from My Notebook

The new season of Something Shifted starts on Tuesday 5 November.
Listen on Apple Podcasts or Spotify and remember to rate and review.

Until the next time,

P.s. What do you think of the new format?
